Animals on the golf course

You may have seen the news article making its way around Australia and further yesterday of the python swallowing the wallaby at Paradise Palms golf course in Cairns.

The 4-metre long snake had a 30 minute wrestle with the wallaby in the middle of the fairway before engulfing its meal and retreated back to the river.

Local golfers have said they had seen snakes on the course before but nothing “as big as that”.

In light of the incident we decided to go through some of the more interesting animals that have made their way onto golf courses around the world.

Beginning with another animal making an attack on the fairway, this time a human becomes the victim while his friend has a good laugh at. Luckily no one was too hurt by this wild goose!

Another bird attack, this eagle has managed to ruin this man’s hole by stealing a crucial part of the game.

Unless competing it is probably preferable to have your ball relocated by an eagle than have a baboon come running passed while you are planning your pitch!

Alligator’s are no stranger to the fairway’s in the USA, but this monster that was filmed in Florida earlier this year could convince one to quit the sport for good!

Even Happy Gilmore’s violent hockey background couldn’t help him here!

Often considered quite a terrifying creature, this bear cub is too cute having some fun with the flag while it’s siblings laze around the green.

Similarly this mountain lion seemed to be finding some fun with another flag.

Bringing it back home to Australia, we see some kangaroo’s bouncing around the Women’s Australian Open in Canberra!

Here is compilation from the PGA that highlights the top 10 animal encounters on the tour:

We thought we would finish we some of the world’s biggest snakes that are luckily, yet to make their way onto a golf course!
